Soft resetting the Oppo A53 Dual SIM

Oppo A53 Dual SIM was announced in November 2015 and the phone was available for sale from December 2015. It features a 5.5 inches captive touchscreen with more than 16 million colors. The resolution of the display is 720 x 1280(~ 267 ppi pixel density). The device has an internal memory of 16 GB and 2 GB of RAM. The operating system is Android OS, v5.1 (Lollipop). Even if it was designed to work at an optimal level, as any tech product on the market, it starts to work slower than usual after a period of time and even to freeze whenever you open some applications. This is why it highly needs what is called a master reset.

The steps to follow in order to master restore your device are fairly easily and can be performed in the comfort of your own home. All you need to do before you get started is to make sure that your phone is fully charged, you saved the files from the RAM and tried all other options to solve the problem.

Whenever you notice your device working slower than normal, you ought to try a software refresh. Why? The reason is due to the fact that this process can help you get rid of infections, software errors or simply delete any important data before a resell. There is not a lot to worry about when initiating such an operation, as this is a simple thing that anyone can do at home. There are two ways to restore the phone to its original state. Soft resetting your smartphone is a method very much alike to a hard drive format on a conventional computer. Here is the first method to bring back your device to a functional state and get it up and running without problems:

  1.  From the main screen, you have to select Settings.
  2.  From the Settings menu, you will have to choose the ‘Back up & Reset’ icon.
  3.  Click on ‘Factory data reset’.
  4.  Choose Ok and wait for the device to reboot.

The second method uses the hardware buttons and works when the phone is unresponsive and you can`t access the menu of the device. Make sure you have the battery charged because if the phone turns off unexpectedly during the process, your device may be affected. Now you can try the following steps:

  1. Turn off your device.
  2. Press and hold the Volume Up key, the Home button and the Power button.
  3. Your phone will reboot in Recovery mode. Use the Volume buttons to navigate in the menu and the Power button to select an option.
  4. Using the Volume button, navigate to the ‘Wipe data/factory reset’ option and select it using the Power key.
  5. The process will end with the message ‘Data Wipe Complete’.
  6. Wait for your phone to reboot.
