Hard Reset the Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 to Factory Settings

The Galaxy Mini from Samsung is a smartphone that anyone can afford. Simple, basic and affordable are three main characteristics of this device, but that doesn’t make it unattractive. Still a very strong mobile phone thanks to the Froyo OS that powers it, the Samsung Galaxy Mini S5570 can be hard reset in very few simple steps that we will enumerate in this article.

Before we get there, though, let’s take the time to understand this procedure. First things first, the master reset itself is a good way to solve both minor and major software issues, but it can also be used when the PIN code is lost or you want to resell the device. It can be used on computers, laptops, tablets and many more, but it also works on smartphones. The only downside to it is that all user data will be deleted, so you should remember to save everything before following our advice.

Also known under the name T-Mobile Move, this is a phone that is being commercialized in India as Samsung Galaxy Pop. While it may have many names it goes by, in terms of colors and patterns it is not that creative – you can only choose between white and black. Using Java and coming with radio FM, the phone has a capacitive touchscreen with TouchWiz version 3.0.

Its Android OS can be upgrade to Gingerbread – version 2.3 – while the CPU is a 600 MHz one. With an Adreno 200 GPU and a 3.15 MP camera, this model from Samsung mobile does not come with a frontal camera for video-chatting. Its Li-Ion 1200 mAh battery allows users to talk for about 10 hours in a row without having to recharge, and the same battery can be easily taken out if need be.

One of the good things about most modern smartphones is that they come with an option for resetting them that’s included within the menu. Therefore, you don’t even need to go through complicated procedures or know the right buttons in order to initiate a reboot.

In the case of the Galay Mini, you can follow these steps to erase your data using the settings options. It is recommended to save everything important into a backup, and this can be done using any method you prefer:

  1. Turn the phone on and go to the apps list.
  2. Select the Settings folder and click on Privacy.
  3. Scroll down and choose Factory Data Reset.
  4. Tap Reset Phone, and then confirm with Erase All.

In case you don’t remember the password of the device, it might be a good idea to follow the steps above. However, instead of going for the Factory Reset, you should choose the option saying Clear Storage. While this one is not focused on remediating faults, it will delete the settings you’ve created when saving a pass code.

If you’re dealing with a virus or more serious issue that causes your phone to shut down or block at unexpected times, to fill the screen with errors or block your access to the online world, you should move on to the net method. This one will use the exterior buttons to initiate a factory reset, just as you can see below:

  1. Charge your device and press Power to switch it off.
  2. Remove the battery and wait for a bit before putting it back in.
  3. Press Home and Power and hold both keys until the phone is on.
  4. Use Volume Down to highlight Factory Data Reset and press Power.
  5. Follow any additional indications on the screen to continue.

Please feel free to use the backup to restore files and download any games or apps you prefer from Google Play. Remember that your phone will be as a brand new one you purchase from the shop, so it won’t have anything installed on its system.
