Also known as a Nokia RM-835, the Lumia 610 is a Windows Phone that was released in April 2012. While it may not be the latest and best smartphone from this brand, it is reknown for its large storage capacity – 8 GB – and the high-speed internet – 7.2 Mbps. If you happen to own this device and started dealing with a few software-related problems that interfered with your user experience, this article might be just right for you.
We will focus on the hard reset procedure for the Nokia Lumia 610, while highlighting two main ways of performing it. This is one sure way to get rid of all viruses you could have acquired when you transferred files from another phone, tablet or PC. On the negative side, you should not forget that all user data will be erased by the end of this process, which is why we recommend making a backup in advance.
Running on Windows 7.5 Mango, this device comes with a single-core 800 GHz processor and uses Qualcomm MSM72271 Snapdragon as its chipset. It is also equipped with Radio FM with RDS and most music formats are easy to play on the Nokia RM-835. If you’re interested in connectivity, you should know that it comes with a Wi-Fi 802 hotspot, Bluetooth v2.1 and gives access to many free applications to download.
HOW TO RESTORE THE NOKIA LUMIA 610
In order to restore this phone to factory settings, you can use the hard reset keys or the menu from the main screen. In the first case, you won’t need a functional device, this being the best way to regain functionality of a frozen Nokia Lumia. Before moving any further, though, it is crucial that you save all important documents.
To create a backup, you can connect the phone to an external device (i.e.: another phone, your laptop, desktop computer, tablet, etc.) with the USB cable. Once connected, you can easily create a new folder and transfer all files you need. This one can be used at a later time – once the procedure is complete.
Follow the indications for the first method, as shown below:
- Switch the phone off and make sure the battery is entirely charged.
- Hold the Volume Down (no. 4), Power (no. 5) and Camera (no. 6) keys at the same time and wait for a vibration.
- When the Nokia logo pops up, release the Power key and keep holding the other two.
- The reboot will be automatically performed; you should wait for a maximum of 5 minutes.
If you’d like to use the Main Menu for the factory restore, do the following:
- On the initial screen, press the Menu key.
- Tap Settings and choose About Phone.
- Press Reset Phone and tap Yes to confirm.
