One of the few dual-SIM card smartphones from LG is the Optimus L5 that we’re going to present today. The phone comes with a 4 inches capacitive touchscreen and uses version 4.1.2 of Android, being upgradable to v4.2. Our article will also focus on an important procedure for this device, which is the hard reset on LG Optimus L5 II E460.
This is the easiest way to get rid of all software issues and the only one that you can use all by yourself at home. The operation can be performed using various methods that we are going to discuss in the second part of the article. One important aspect that you should bear in mind is that you will lose all files by the end of this, as the device will be restore to both factory software and factory settings. This is why we advise you to make a backup using the microSD card or any device you wish – i.e.: a tablet, a laptop, a PC, etc.
Thanks to the 3G support and a strong Wi-Fi network, the smartphone can reach speeds of up to 7.2 Mbps download and 5.76 Mbps upload. Some other key elements in terms of connectivity are the microUSB v2.0, as well as the BT v3.0 and NFC. In terms of design, the phone looks very elegant and comes in colors like indigo, white, black, titan and pink.
The long-lasting battery on this device is a Li-Ion 1700 mAh that can be easily removed whenever you want to do a soft reset. Using a 1 GHz CPU and PowerVR SGX531 GPU, the Optimus L5 II comes with only one camera. This one is a rear 5 MP one that can also record 480@30fps videos, is equipped with autofocus, geo-tagging and LED flash.
How to Restore the LG Optimus L5
There are several ways to prompt this LG phone to reboot and get your problems sorted out. If you forgot the PIN code or password, you can’t use several apps, the device crushes a lot, shows fatal errors or simply fails to work the way it should, you may be dealing with a nasty virus that needs to be destroyed.
If you already have the LG Mobile Support tool installed, it’s easy enough to do a reset using this one. All you’ll need to do is to select Customer Support, and then press Recovery Phone. By pressing Support within this menu, tapping Mobile Phone Support, and then selecting your phone’s model, you will determine the device to reboot and restart at the end of the procedure.
For those of you who don’t have this tool, are not familiar with it or don’t know how to use it, there are two more methods that you could use. These ones are the most well-known, and they both erase all user data from the LG Optimus L5, so please make sure that you saved all documents in a backup.
- Switch the power off and remove all the cables.
- Press Power & Volume Down & Quick buttons and hold for 15 secs.
- Wait for the LG logo, and then release all three keys.
- The device will automatically reboot and erase all files.
The second option you have is to use the menu, as shown below:
- Go to the Settings folder, and then tap Backup & Reset.
- Choose the Factory Data Reset option and press Reset Device.
- Read the info on the display and tap Delete All.
That’s all you need to do, and the phone will begin rebooting once you press the last button to confirm your option. It will take up to 5 minutes for the operation to be complete, and the LG Optimus will restart before letting you use the data. You can now transfer your files using the backup you made and install all other apps and tools that you need.
