Huawei Ascend P6 Hard Reset to Factory Soft

A frozen device is not such a big surprise these days anymore. Mostly anyone knows that the answer to lags, unresponsive apps and errors is to hard reset your smartphone or tablet yourself. However, the important aspect is not to follow instructions that you’ve seen used on other similar phones or you think might work on yours. This is why our article today is here to guide you in doing a hard reset specifically on the Huawei Ascend P6 model.

Without intending to state the obvious, this phone comes with a built-in battery, which means that the usual soft reset option will not be feasible. In such situations, we recommend doing a full wipe of all the data by using either the settings option or the hardware buttons one that are highlighted in the second part of the article. Before you start doing that, though, don’t forget to save your files in an up-to-date backup!

If you ever wondered if elegance had another name, now you know it – it’s Huawei Ascend P6. Coming with a dual SIM card and 16GB of storage, this one does not support the use of microSD cards. However, the phone is equipped with an IPS + LCD touchscreen that is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The Quad-Core 1.5 GHz processor is also part of what makes this such a powerful smartphone, but there’s much more to it than meets the eye.

Available in white and black, but also pink for the ladies, this phone comes with a Photo Viewer and editor, which makes sense given its camera abilities. In case you did not know, the Huawei Ascend P6 is equipped with two powerful cameras – the one on the back is an 8 MP one while the frontal one is a 5 MP camera that is perfect for professional-looking selfies.

HOW TO RESTORE THE HUAWEI ASCEND

Going through some of your application, your display froze and there’s no response coming from the keyboard either. You don’t know what else to do than to restart the device, but switching it back on, it starts doing the same or even errors make their way to your screen. If this sounds familiar to you, then you might want to get your backup done and follow the following instructions.

For the settings method, do as shown below:

  1. Go to Home Screen and press Settings.
  2. Go to All Tabs and scroll down to Personal.
  3. Select Backup & Reset and go to Factory Reset.
  4. Click on Reset Phone and read the information.
  5. Confirm that you read the warning and press Reset Phone.

These steps have to be followed eactly as mentioned above or you will run the risk of causing more damage than already eisting on the device. If you turned the Ascend P6 back on after a lag or frozen display issue and it’s still doing the same, you will probably not be able to access the Settings folder, as shown in method 1.

  1. Turn the phone off and charge it to 100pc.
  2. Press Power and Volume Down and hold keys.
  3. Wait until you enter Recovery Mode, and then release.
  4. Select Wipe Data using Volume keys and press Power.
  5. Read the information that shows up on the screen for any additional instructions.

If the reboot will go as planned, you should be able to see what the status of the procedure is on the display. When all is done, the Huawei phone will restart and show a home screen that will remind you of the time you first purchased it. That happens because all of the settings and data will have been erased and the OS reinstalled, so you can now enjoy your brand new device.
