HOW TO RESTORE THE HTC ONE VX

If your software problems are persistent and cannot be sorted out by turning the phone off and back on, you only solution might be to reset the device. The factory restore is also known as a master or hard reset, as it will revert all settings to their initial, original state.

Before you follow our recommended steps, please be aware that all the following will be removed: settings and personal data, apps and programs that have been installed, contacts and messages, the associated Google account, any upgrades for the operating system. To make sure you have everything backed up, use any device you wish to transfer the files.

You can use the hardware keys as shown here:

  1. Turn the HTC One off.
  2. Press Volume Down and Power (8 & 5), and then hold both keys.
  3. Wait for three Android logos to appear and release all buttons.
  4. Press Volume – to go to Factory Reset and tap Power to select it.
  5. Follow all other instructions on the screen and wait for the procedure to be completed.

The same as will happen by following the indications above will also take place if you do this:

  1. Open the Notifications panel and tap Settings.
  2. Go to Backup & Reset and choose Reset Phone.
  3. Select if you want to erase certain files or tap Erase All.
  4. Read the warning and choose Reset Phone.
  5. Confirm with OK and the reboot will be initiated.
