Launched in June 2012, the HTC Desire V, also known under the name of T328w is a well-designed quality smartphone from HTC. Being one of the very few phones that can work with two SIM cards at the same time, this one is a rare breed that caught the attention of many people. If you are the proud owner of this device and you’re dealing with a few software problems, it might be a good time to perform a hard reset on the HTC Desire V T328w.
Like all other smartphones, this one can also stop working properly after a long time of using it. Resetting the phone to factory soft will allow you to get rid of all errors, freezes and hangs very easily, making it a perfection solution to solve the problems you were experiencing. However, we have to warn you that this procedure will wipe all the data stored on the phone if you don’t perform a backup before getting started. But first things first – let’s learn a bit more about this amazing HTC!
The 9.3-millimeter thin phone runs on Android OS v4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) and comes with a 1 GHz processor, 4 GB internal storage and 512 MB RAM, as well as a card slot that allows you to use a micro SD card to store more data. Equipped with a Wi-Fi 802 hotspot and Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, the HTC Desire V is very well-suited for browsing the internet and comes with Youtube, Gmail and Maps included. If you’re a photography fanatic, you should know that the phone also has a 5 MP camera with autofocus and LED flash.
How to Restore the HTC Desire V
We told you before about the importance of creating a backup of all the data you wouldn’t want to lose, but we didn’t tell you how to do that. So here you go – simpler than ever, to save the files and folders on the device you have to connect it to the computer with the USB cable you have in store and transfer everything into a separate folder. Other ways of doing the same thing involve using the micro SD card that the phone came with or saving everything on to a cloud.
Whatever method you choose to use, when you’re done saving the data you can move to the next step. This one can be done using the phone’s menu or via hardware, depending on the state of the HTC. If you’re still able to use the screen and keyboard, we recommend doing the following:
- Open the phone’s Main Menu and go to the Settings folder.
- Select Storage then scroll down to Factory Data Reset.
- Choose what you allow to erase and tap Reset Phone when you’re ready.
Alternatively, if the phone is frozen and you’re unable to use the main menu, we suggest opting for the second method. This means using the hard reset button keys in a way that you might be familiar with. To get started with the master reset, follow the instructions below:
- Make sure the device is turned off and completely charged.
- Press the Volume Down key and then the Power button at the same time.
- When the Recovery Screen appears, release the two keys and select Clear storage from the options, using the Volume buttons.
- Press the Power key to confirm and select YES with the Volume Up key.
- The data wipe will now begin, and the system will be reset.
After a maximum of five minutes, the HTC Desire V T328w will be ready to use and will feel like brand new. Don’t forget to use the backup you previously made to restore the contacts, media content, apps and SMS you’d like to recover.
