This is the Samsung I9003 Galaxy SL and it’s been released at the beginning of 2011. It may not be the best smartphone from Samsung Mobile, but it’s a great one to have. Its users definitelly know what I’m talking about. And the same users will also know that no matter how careful you are with your phone, you almost always experience a few software errors that bother you. To solve these any many other problems, you will need to get familiarized with two words: hard and reset.
A hard reset is an efficient method that most of us had to use at least once in our lives. While restoring your phone to factory settings, this procedure will also erase everything on the internal memory so it can quickly solve all softwareproblems. This article will guide you through the reset itself, but it will also teach you about soft reset and backup – some other terms you might want to write down.
Being powered byAndroid’s operating system, this Samsung comes with 478 MB of RAM and a 1 GHz Cortez-A8 processor. Having a 5 MP primary camera, geo-tagging, smile detection and touch focus, the phone also has a secondary VGA camera. Thanks to its Wi-Fi hotspot, as well as the Bluetooth v2.1, the phone allows access to a variety of apps on Google Play. Enjoy discovering some of the best ones – you will be pleased to learn that most of them are free to download!
Restoring the Samsung Galaxy SL
In case your phone is having minor troubles in opening a few applications or freezes from time to time, you should try to do a soft reset. To perform this operation, all you have to do it turn your phone off and remove the battery. After 2 minutes, you can place the battery back in and try turning to phone on to see if it works better.
The second option is a hard reset – this one will restore your phone to factory settings. Before taking any further action, make sure that you’ve completed a backup. To do so, all you have to do is plug your phone into an external device and copy the information into a folder. This can also be done using the Phone Copy application.
The first solution we’d like to introduce you to is the following:
- On your phone’s Home Menu go to the Settings Folder.
- Choose the Privacy option and scroll down to Factory Data Reset.
- Confirm your option clicking on Reset phone, then choose Erase everything.
- Your phone will now be rebooting and be ready in a couple of minutes.
The same procedure can also be done by using the reset code – all you have to do is enter *2767*3855# in your dialer. Your phone will automatically reboot once you press the green button to confirm. It will then erase all your contacts, photos, music, messages, etc.
For an unresponsive device, please use the keys shown in the picture:
- Turn your phone off.
- Press the Home key, the Volume Up and the Power button at the same time, then release the Power button and keep pressing the other two.
- Once you reset menu appears, select Wipe Data/Factory Reset using the Volume buttons and confirm your option by choosing Yes.
- The phone will automatically reboot for the next 3 minutes.
