Being the successor of the Galaxy Mini, this phone comes with a number of hardware upgrades. The 800 MHz processor, as well as the capacitive touchscreen with a resolution of 320 x 480 pixels are two of these. Apart from coming with impressive features and a great design, this is also one of the most affordable smartphones that you could get. If you made this investment and are one of the proud owners, you’ll probably be happy to learn that it is easy to hard reset the Samsung Galaxy Mini 2 S6500.
Use this procedure when you’d like to erase all data including messages and contacts. It is also the best way to get rid of software problems, remove a forgotten password and bring the phone back to original state. All files will be lost, so please make sure you copy all the necessary photos, videos, messages, music files and other documents to a SIM or PC before you fully reset the phone.
Thanks to the user-friendly interface, it is very easy to operate the device and find all apps you may need. With a setup that’s very typical to most Samsung devices, this one has a Home button placed in the middle of its lower side while the display helps you give most other commands to the phone. It is powered by Android’s Gingerbread operating system, and it is equipped with a stereo FM radio with RDS. Apart from that, there is an MP3/MP4/AAC/FLAC player that can also support most other files.
The Galaxy Mini 2 also includes 4 GB of internal storage out of which 512 MB of RAM. It comes with only one camera placed on the rear side of the phone – this one is a 3.15 MP camera attached with geo-tagging that can record videos. Powered by an Adreno 200 GPU and a Qualcomm MSM7227A Snapdragon chipset, this is one of the highest quality smartphones that come at such a low price.
HOW TO RESTORE THE SAMSUNG GALAXY MINI 2
If you’re looking for further tips on making the backup, we’d like to advise you to take advantage of the Android OS. This way, you will be able to use a wide variety of apps that allow you to copy files from the Samsung and transfer them on to any other device you’d like to use. One of the most appreciated tools that clients recommend is known under the name of PhoneCopy and can be downloaded here for free.
In terms of restoring the device to factory settings, we’d like to suggest three main methods of doing so. The first one is going to use the factory reset code that is *2767*3855#. It can be entered in the dialing pad once tapping the green button to make a phone call. When you press Call you confirm your choice, which means that everything will be erased.
You can alternatively use the hard reset keys that can be found on the exterior chassis, as shown in the image to the right:
- Power the phone off, and then simultaneously press Power, Home and both Volume keys.
- Release buttons when the Samsung logo appears, and then wait for the menu to load.
- Use Volume Down to choose Wipe Data and select it with Home.
- Scroll using the same keys to choose Yes and confirm with Home.
- Using the previous buttons, select Reboot; wait for the restart.
To wipe factory data the same as indicated above, you can also use the settings available via the phone’s menu. This method is only possible in the case of a functional phone. It may not be used in case apps are frozen, the display is not functional or you can’t remember the PIN code. Do the following if choosing this option:
- Keep the phone on and open the applications list.
- Go to Settings, and then choose the Privacy option.
- Select Factory Data Reset and tap Reset Phone.
- All this will be confirmed by tapping Erase Everything.
