Previously sold as Acer Liquid Metal, the Liquid mt is a smartphone benefiting from an agile 800 MHz processor and a great multi-touch display. Thanks to the curvy design of both the screen and the chassis, this device is very easy to hold and manipulate. Apart from all these features, it is also fairly simple to hard reset the Acer Liquid mt by using two solutions that we’ll present you with.
Whether you’re familiar with the name master, cold or factory reset, the procedure is basically the same. Before we show you how to do it, though, it is highly important to first understand how it works. To shortly explain it, the operation takes a short period of time to bring all settings back to default by reinstalling the operating system. By doing this, all data that could be storing a virus will also be removed from the memory.
The TFT capacitive touchscreen with 16M colors supports a resolution of 480 x 800 pixels while the device is equipped with Dolby Mobile sound enhancement. With 512 MB of RAM, the Liquid mt is powered by a Qualcomm MSM7230 chipset and an Adreno 205 GPU. The only color available is silver, and the phone weights 4.76 oz, measuring 4.53 x 2.48 x 0.53 inches.
You can use the rear-facing 5 MP camera to take great pictures, but it is also very good at shooting 720p videos. The Li-Ion 1500 mAh battery lets you talk for up to 8 hours in 3G and 11 hours in 2G. Speaking of these two available networks, it’s useful to know that the smartphone has a Wi-Fi 802 hotspot and can reach speeds of 14.4 Mbps in HSDPA.
HOW TO RESTORE THE ACER LIQUID MT
As it uses Android’s Froyo (version 2.2) operating system, the data on this phone can be easily saved by using applications. One of the most appreciated ones until nowadays is the PhoneCopy one that was specifically designed for Android devices. Using this one and a PC, tablet or micro SD card, you can transfer all the important documents. This way, there’s no reason to worry anymore, as all files will be safe throughout the process.
For the factory restore via settings, you should follow the below indications:
Go to the Home screen and press Menu.
- Select Settings, and then tap SD & phone storage.
- Choose Factory Data Reset and tap Reset Phone to continue.
- Read the warning that pops up and confirm with Erase all.
We know that one of the most common reasons for doing a reset is forgetting your passcode. In such cases, as well as situations where it is impossible to use the touchscreen, you won’t have access to the previous folder. If the menu fails to open or you don’t have access to the settings, you should use the alternative, as follows:
- With the phone switched off, charge battery to 100%.
- Remove all cables and press Volume Up + Power for 5 seconds.
- Release both keys when the device vibrates and wait for the menu to load.
- Use Volume Up to select Yes and confirm with the Camera key.
- To cancel the reboot, press Volume Down to choose No, and then press Camera.
