Acer Liquid E2 Hard Reset to Factory Settings Mode

Launched in April 2013, the Acer Liquid E2 comes with a dual-core processor from MediaTek and is famous for its multitasking capacity, as well as the general efficiency of the device. Today’s article is going to present the main characteristics of the phone, while we will focus on the master reset procedure.

Whenever this Android smartphone is running slow, the apps stopped working, or you forgot the password, a good way of solving all such problems is to perform a hard reset on the Acer Liquid E2. By doing this, you will restore it to factory settings, erase all documents who could possibly store viruses, and refresh the OS which is the main reason why the phone feels as brand new.

To understand more about the way it works, you should know that this Acer also comes 1 GB of RAM that allow you to use a wide variety of apps at the same time. These ones can be easily downloaded from Google Play, and many of them are free. Having a Wi-Fi 802 hotspot and a Bluetooth v3.0 with A2DP, connectivity is made fairly easy. The phone also has A-GPS support, it’s equipped with Radio FM and supports most reknown music files.

RESTORING THE ACER LIQUID

While we did mention that a factory reset is one sure way to get rid of software-related issues, it’s important to make the difference between serious problems and minor ones. If the phone is simply frozen or fails to respond to some of your commands, you could also try to soft reset it. This is a less aggressive process that could make the device functional once again.

To do this, you should turn it off and make sure all cables are removed – the USB cable, the headphones, etc. Then remove the 2000 mAh battery and wait for at least a minute or two. You can then place it back in and press the power button. When the phone is on, check if the apps are working better, and be certain that you have fully charged the battery.

If the Acer is still not working, you should create a backup of all data you’d like to keep and get ready for the second method. To save any of the files stored on the internal memory, you should connect the phone to a PC or any other external device, and transfer everything into another folder.

Follow the instructions below:

  1. Go to the Settings folder and select Privacy.acer-liquid-e2-reset
  2. Choose Factory Data Reset and tap Reset to confirm.
  3. If prompted, select Erase Everything and wait for the phone to start formatting.

The next method should be used in case the display fails to work or the keyboard is frozen – go through the following steps to perform:

  1. Turn the phone off then press and hold the Power Key until the Acer logo pops up.
  2. Simultaneously press and hold both Volume Buttons (+ and -) and wait for the next screen to appear.
  3. Use the Volume Down button to scroll down and select Clear boot: YES.
  4. Press the Camera button to confirm and don’t interrupt the reboot.
